the forever long day.

the day began with attempting to wake up really early and not leaving till like 7 or 7:30 or so.
then we drove quickly out of iowa and into nebraska.
we stopped by Lincoln, NE to meet up and say hi to one of Andrei's friends for like... five or ten minutes.
then we just drove. forever. we had lunch at some rest stop in nebraska. my mom packed us soooo much food. sandwich stuff, water, junk food, granola bars, even a mini cake! so we had sandwiches for lunch.
then we drove a boatload more. as soon as we crossed into colorado, it got really hilly. then eventually we saw mountains. then we saw sun.
we drove.
the sun began to set. it was pretty.
then we got to the denver area on 76 and there was yucky traffic. the worst i've ever been in, but that's not really saying much considring this was the first time i've really ever driven in highway city area anyway. it was a bit scary especially since there were cars everywhere and the sun was in the worst possible spot. below the clouds, above the mountains, in a slot of sky that the sun visor thing didn't cover. so i couldn't read any signs and just had to try to keep moving with traffic as best as i could.
after we made it out of there, we headed into the mountains to go past them. there were two areas where it was really scary. it was a downward slope of a road and it was snowy and there were snowy patches on the road. it came really close to being as scary as the blizzard was yesterday. oh and the roads were nice and curvy too. yay?
but once those two parts were done near the beginning of the mountain crossing, the rest was really clean and easy. i even tried to take a few seconds to look around when i could at the mountains and the sparadic skiing towns, which looked really cool. all lit up and lots of trees with lights and what not.
so that was not so bad. the speed limit even was up to 75 in some areas.
then, i started to get exhausted. and starving. (still am starving. we're waiting for our pizzas!) so i tried to eat constantly. and drink lots of water. to stay awake and concious. my head started to feel like there was a headband on it... like, pressure on the sides. not fun. and i realized my neck was super stiff from not moving much at all.
*break* pizza just got here! yay.

ok back, that was so good to eat. a lot.
anyway, so eventually, i got so bad, i went crazy. all i remember was talking loudly, eating reese's pieces and marshmallows, almost crying, then singing nonsense.... not sure what else i did. it was so bad. i just wanted to go to sleep.
eventually we got to Grand Junction, CO. at around 10 or 10:30pm central time.
it was so good to eat.
i feel so much better now.
we're watching George Lopez on tv now. mwahaha. it's funny. i like it. we're going to sleep soon. we're going to make it to Las Vegas tomorrow. that should be no problem compared to the past two days now.
