the sparkling device.

So, it’s probably about time I put this into writing since it’s been a few weeks by now.

The night of October 19, 2008, Andrei and I got engaged at around midnight, so that makes it technically the morning of the 20th.

That Sunday, the 19th, after church, Andrei and I went to McDonald’s for breakfast. It was yum. Then, Andrei decided we were going to go to the mall since he wanted to find himself a new pair of jeans. Once we got to the mall, we started shopping. However, the sparkly jewelry stores were a bit of a distraction. We went into one, they were not very helpful or talkative and let us just look on our own. There wasn’t anything special there anyway. Then we got back on track and looked for denim again. He ended up finding a pair of jeans in identical style and fit, just a bit of a different wash as a pair he already had and also bought himself a nice black blazer. Then, we decided to wander through the rest of the jewelry stores in the mall. All but the first one were very helpful and had me trying rings on and what not. That helped figure out what I liked and didn’t like. Then, at one of the stores, we came across a really simple, three stone ring. We got pretty close to getting that one, but we decided to leave it and keep it in mind while we go to one more store that was not in the mall. That store had a ton more options. And yes, I found more there that I liked, so the decision was a bit tougher. After I tried on just about every diamond ring I found appealing in their display cases, I had three final choices. Each were a variation of a three stone ring. Turns out, Andrei and I and even the lady helping us all favored the same ring. So that ended up being the one he got for me. One amusing point was that the outer, gift box and the bag they put it in matched the nail polish I had on pretty much exactly. Weird, eh?
So then, he stashed the box somewhere and we went on with our day.
Mind you, I was shaking and pretty much had butterflies the whole time we were shopping, so it wasn’t particularly easy to go along with the rest of the day normally.
Andrei and I made dinner, since my mom had called me and asked if we would mind doing so earlier in the day.
So dinner was good.
Then after dinner, we all (Viktorija, Algiukas, Andrei, and me) decided to watch a movie. Tokyo Drift. Then just a few minutes into the movie, Andrei got up and walked away, after him being gone more than ten minutes, I knew exactly what he was up to… he was having a chat with my dad.
During the movie, after Andrei had come back to it… perhaps an hour later, my mom poked into the room to ask if I had seen the movie before (I hadn’t) and said we need to talk. The tone of her voice kind of scared me… I had no idea how she’d react to the situation.
So, after the movie, I walked into the kitchen, and my mom promptly asked ‘so do you have a date yet?’ I was like… ummm what?! Apparently I seemed as if I had no idea what was going on, but soon found out I did. Soon afterwards, my mom, dad, Andrei and I sat down in the living room and chatted for a while. They were surprisingly quite happy and excited for us. That was really cool to see. After he showed them the ring, they asked why I wasn’t wearing it and he said that he hadn’t actually technically asked me yet. So clearly, they implied it would be done that night, and I think they even made mention of the library.
So that night, Andrei and I drove over to the New Lenox Commons – my favorite place in the area… large pond, water fountain, terrace, performing arts pavilion, lots of grass and plants and trees… and we walked over to the terrace, so I was facing the water- I love to just stand there and look and listen to the water splash and wave.... and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Obviously, I agreed, and ever since that oh so eventful bunch of hours, I have been wearing my absolutely lovely, shiny engagement ring.

frosting and soup.

it's raining, thundering, all that good stuff.

i like this season. fall. autumn. whatever you call it. the autumnal equinox. the weather is great. it can rain, snow, be warm, be cool, be cold. it can be anything. the flowers are out just a little bit longer. everything is still green. the leaves eventually change colors to reveal their lovely colors hidden by the monotonous green all summer.

and i'm ill. thanks to algiukas. stuffy/runny nose, maybe a slight fever? it's lovely really...
all i've eaten today is soup, more soup, a few cookies, and some cream cheese frosting.

it just started raining really hard. you can hear it on the roof. i wish i wasn't feeling yicky. i would love to be outside now. standing there. letting myself get completely soaked by the chilled, quickly falling water drops till i got so wet nothing would be dry. then come inside, get a towel, and soon afterwards, change into some fresh, warm clothes.
wouldn't it be nice.

andrei left his phone at his house today. i hate when he does that. it's just weird not hearing from him all day till he finally ends up back where he began his day.

i'm nearly done with school.
i need to fill out internship paperwork and find somewhere to intern. to get one hundred fifty of my last few hundred hours left at school.
although, i do enjoy going to shcool a lot more lately. entirely due to the fact that whenever i don't have class or somewhere i absolutely should be, i help emily at the reception desk. i enter information into the computer, check people in, check people out and what not. i really enjoy doing that a whole ton better than whatever it is i used to do before i started helping out there. even one of the teachers, katie, on saturday came to me and told me that i look a lot happier up at the front desk. she must have noticed me moping around school a few weeks ago.
i like doing paperwork.
and sitting at the computer all day.
i lose track of time even. to the point where i don't take a lunch unless i absolutely feel hungry and realize it or if ally kidnaps me.
i don't know what i'll do when school is over.
i wish i had a plan.
some goals would be nice.
i have none.
no plan.
no goals.
often times, i feel out of it to the point where very little amuses me and i just wander nearly like a zombie. i can be emotionless too if you let me.
i wish my parents would have agreed and helped me go to school away somewhere. then i would have been living what i wanted. somewhere away from home, going to classes, doing homework, doing art, and possibly even in a figure skating club or a dance company with school.
nope.
i'm stuck.
at home.
for what feels like forever.
eating dinner with the family.
listening to my brother aimlessly scream at the computer screen while not so secretly using andrei's headphones/mic without permission to his online friends while playing some game.
most of the time i just want to be somewhere else.
so i just close my door and sit there. or wander without a purpose on random websites. shopping. facebook. myspace. the usual.
or i watch stupid tv shows.
but lately, i've started to read again.
a lot.
i realize now how much i used to read when i was younger. and how much i miss it.
last week i read two books totalling to at least a thousand pages in five days. one of them, i read in one day. it took just about every free minute i had, but i thoroughly enjoyed every second.
and now, i'm nearly done with another that i just started on thursday.
i'll have to find my way to the library, or even better, a bookstore sometime very soon.
and soon enough, i'll most definately need to find more room to store my collection.

dinner time is starting to annoy me more and more.
everyone just sits, hunched over their filled plate, scooping forks full of food into their open mouths. it's quite unpleasant. the conversation can be amusing at times, but more often than not lately, i just find myself wishing to be almost anywhere but there.
i've found that i used to hate missing dinner with the family. i would cringe when i would miss it and the meal would promise to be delicious.
lately, however, i've realized that i care less and less if i miss a meal if i'm out with friends. or staying late at school. no matter how good the food is to be. it'll be there when i get home ready to be put on a plate, then placed in the microwave for a minute or so to be reheated and eaten whenever i get hungry later on.

anyway, i put off finishing typing and posting this for a few hours and don't even know what more i had to say. that's alright i guess.
who wants to read about my emo thoughts anyway, right?

color.

hey, so get this....

andrei had a brilliant idea. :D
yesterday, we went to lowe's and got some drywall and paint in white, red , blue, yellow, and a mistint $.50 can of pink.
then, at home, we set up the drywall (cut into two 3'x4' and two 2'x2' squares) in the yard... andrei had a square and i had a larger piece, opened up the paint cans and painted!
it was sooo cool! :D
seriously, that was one of the best ideas andrei has had yet. it was such an unexpected, fun idea. :)
we were out there for like, 3 hours. just mixing colors and painting away.
andrei had never painted anything before... or done much art of any kind. he said that the most he's ever done painting wise was that he was given a can of paint and told to paint the walls. :/

just thought i'd share... it was just so awesome.

chayah.

long time no write in here, no?

today, andrei decided to not go to work... he kinda started driving up, but traffic was super slow and he didn't feel like going like crazy, so he turned back. on his way, he bought me some strawberry swirl iced coffee from saxby's and brought it to me at school during my break at 10... which i totally didn't know he was doing. he texted me asking if i was on break yet, i was like, yeah. and he responded that he's in the parking lot and has something for me. so i went outside, got a big hug and my yummerz coffee and chilled in the parking lot for like ten minutes as my break. that totally made my day. completely. :)
then, at 1:15 i got to be the person that esthetics watched the teacher do a full out oily skin facial on, so now my skin feels nice.
now, algiukas and andrei are playing tennis, dinner is soon, and then andrei and i are going on an adventure since it's super super nice outside. :)

i don't really remember what i was originally going to write here when i opened the tab on firefox, since i opened it with the intention on remembering and then writing a bit later... oh well. perhaps i shall remember.

oh yeah, hahaha. so we watched office space tuesday night. it was my first time seeing it. seriously. funniest movie stinkin' ever. i actually laughed at it. for real once (at the part where they beat up the printer) and almost a few times. so so so funny.
then i watched the mummy for the first time ever last night. so stinkin' weird.

and yes, i have seen the dark knight. sunday night i think we went.
it was so funny... before the movie starts, when they have a worker in the front by the screen doing the whole rule sphiel, you know... free refils, be quiet, enjoy the show etc. some people were like.. 'yeah john!' and like cheering for him. amusing.

i like the song 'the queen and i' by gym class heroes. and i do not know why... mwahaha. haha.

gilli is a goof.

nilla is a crazy.

mmhmmm.

:D

ah yes, jason and flavia were here for twenty days. the left the morning of the 12th. that was pretty rockin' awesome fun for the most part. :D

then on the 12th i got to go cut hair for school at oak street beach at the avp pro volleyball tour paul mitchell tent. we raised over a thousand dollars for the charity 'food for africa' that day. :)
it was nice to be able to cut hair at the beach, in the sand, no shoes, no cleanup. and it was sunny. and i got to watch some sweet volleyball skills. :)

and i'm almost done with school kinda almost. that's cool.

shaweet.

yay for this song:

"So many people gonna say that they want you,/ To try to get you thinking they really care,/
But there's nothing like the warmth of the one who has put in the time and you know he's gonna be there,/ Back your border when she knows someone crossed it,/ Don't let nobody put you down, who your with/ Take the pain of protecting your name, from the crutch to the cane to the high wire"

think.

i remember that i was going to type up a blog the other day, but now, i honestly have no clue what i was going to write...

anyway, i cut my mom's hair wednesday. she just let me do whatever i wanted. so when i finished, and she went to look at it, she really liked it. and said that it's the exact same haircut she got when she went to mario tricoci years ago because she got gift certificates for there and told them to do whatever they wanted (just a longer version of it)... and she loved that cut and hasn't had one that good since. so, if that's not encouraging, i don't know what is.

also, during cutting class yesterday, the teacher just was walking around, checking work and just out of curiosity, asking each of us why we decided to become hairdressers and if we like it. i said that i've just always liked doing hair and i like it and that since i was like, seven or ten or so, i would watch movies to just see how their hair looked sometimes, and i'd watch credits and see the hairdresser's name and be like, 'i want to do that one day...'. she then was like, 'you know who can do that for you?... wynn claybaugh.' he's one of the head guys of paul mitchell. i think he does a lot of their philosophy on life, like be nice to everyone, be happy, surround yourself with positive things... stuff like that. she said i could email him directly, and as long as i use spell check and proper grammar, he'd properly respond. i was like, wow. cool. i love good grammar. and she also said there's a makeup artist that comes in to teach a class every once in a while and he's amazing. he's done makeup for an entire movie. a real one. that was in theatres. i just don't remember the name of it. but, she said she has his information and a few websites i can read and learn from on how to get into doing that. she said both of them would be great contacts and very helpful. so, we shall see what happens. wouldn't that be just wild?
i'm not saying it's going to happen for sure or anything, but it would be cool. as of now, i'm saying its just a far distant dream that would be interesting if it did indeed come true.

the hair show is tomorrow. i'm going to sleep early tonight so i'd be very awake. tomorrow is going to be a looong day.
i have to be at school at 8:30. then we leave school to go to the tinley park convention center at 12 to be there by 12:30. then the competition/show itself begins at like, seven or seven thirty. so i'll be out for over twelve hours. i'm definitely bringing a book and some snacks and tea and water.
i hope it'll be fun. or at the very least, interesting.

that's kind of it for now, i guess. i've been doing styles/updos on my mannequin heads for a few days just for fun and i've got a really neat style pretty consistent. and i'm very happy with it. so that's cool. i think i'll go online and find random styles that are cool and just copy them to get good at it for a while, then start making up my own with some sort of inspiration to it.

fun.

ok.
rehearsal was today. pretty much my one and only (i only got volunteered for this last week... after their first rehearsal) other than some final run thrus next week.
a bunch of girls from school got together some models (aka classmates) and are going to be doing their hair and makeup for competition. they themed their 3 or so minute segment to be x-men 3.
i am one of the models.

i'm shadowcat.
i'm wearing my black patent leather heels, black leggings, a strapless black somewhat sequined/ adorned shirt, and a leather jacket with zippers and such.
my makeup i do not know yet.
my hair will be pretty much straight up mohawk style. really high.
we walk with attitude and near hate in our eyes.
i love it.
really.
rehearsal was so fun.
lol, and they complimented me a ton. like, that i was very good, that i had the attitude, and looked dead serious the whole time i was walking and posing. one of the guys, Tim, that's a model for this and is helping with makeup i think and is really into this stuff, like, he's been to real, big fashion shows said something along the lines of 'she's really good. and the bitch even has the name for it [being a model]' (people at school pronounce my name the lithuanian way and i love it. that's what he's referring to)
it's such a silly thing to be enjoying, but i do. lol, all you really have to do is walk and pose and have the right look on your face and do what your stylist says. simple as that.
i'm really stoked for the real thing next saturday, April 12th.

anyway, other than that... today was 80's day at school. it was amusing to see some of the outfits. they looked like, seriously they timewarped from then.

it's nice outside. that makes me happy.

"well uh oh, oh, i love her because she moves in her own way/ well uh oh, oh she came to my show just to hear about my day.//and at the show on tuesday/she was in her mindset/tempered furs and spangled boots/looks are deceiving/make me believe it/and these tiresome paper dreams/paper dreams, honey/yeah."

tea.

i have a story!

on monday, andrei texts me saying he has a surprise for me. i'm like, ok.... and jokingly say... apple pie?
so then when he got to my house after work, he told me to close my eyes. so i covered them with my hands, because i'm pretty incapable of actually keeping my eyes shut for long periods of time usually unless i'm sleeping or something. anyway, so he then walked into my room, and pulled out something for me to smell and guess what it smelled like. fruity chocolate, i said. he said nope. then i got to open my eyes to see what it was. he had gone to this neat tea store at woodfield mall (right across from his office building) and got me a tea infuser thing thermos that keeps my tea hot forever and tea-ifies water in it too, yeah. and raspberry black tea leaves. it was such a really nice surprise. so thoughtful. and useful. and i love it. i want to take my tea thermos everywhere! i'm going to take it to school with me and drink tea at lunch. yay. i love it. it's yummy. and yeah. i like tea. i want to go to that store. it sounds really neat. i like teeeeeaaaaa.

oh, in other news, i went to a beauty supply store the other day (well it was a stop on sunday when andrei and i were driving around looking for somewhere to eat) and i got new cutting combs, clips for cutting, and some aquage products which i love so much. they're my favorite product line by far. i like aquage even better than redken, but i never knew where to get it. now i have it and yay.
and also, sunday, we ended up going to this pancake house that's open everyday from 6am to 4pm called the double yolk in mokena. oh my goodness, it was delicious.

it's the first wednesday of the month, so shwoot, i didn't have school.

oh, and in about an hour viktorija, algiukas, andrei and i are going to see the movie 21 in the theatre. i read the book it's based on, bringing down the house, like, three years ago and it was good, so now i get to see a mooovvviieee!

i'm happy.
have a nice day.

blargh.

first off, i'd like to say that i have lately really been wishing i was in california. i don't know why, i just want to be there. maybe i just want to be anywhere but here, but cali sounds pretty darn good right now.
i'm really sick of viktorija and algiukas being stupid and mean to each other nearly all the time. i mean, i know it's normal for siblings to be annoying, but they're taking it to a bad extreme sometimes and it's just.... argh.
i'm excited that the weather is starting to warm up. that means soon, i'll be able to go sit outside rather than in my stuffy room.

i just finished watching an episode of gossip girl online. and right as it finished, i started thinking about how i have always wanted to be good at something, like really really good at it. and then i was like, well, why don't i just pick something and practice like crazy till i'm good. like, piano, flute, guitar, anything. then i thought... it's kind of hard to be just amazing at one thing when i'm pretty good at a ton of things and don't particularly love any of them. like, everything i can do, i just kind of like it. there's nothing that really jumps out at me as something that i absolutely love doing... other than ice skating of course, but we all know that's never going to happen for me, so i don't even think about it anymore. it's just so hard for me to see people that are good at things and honestly love doing whatever it is they're good at... or even just love doing something so much that they don't care if they stink at it, they're just determined to get as good as they can at it because they love doing it so much. it's just really frustrating. and i don't know how to make it better. it makes me want to cry sometimes.

...at least i have friends now. a real bunch of friends. it's like i've always wanted it, but not quite as exciting. we talk a ton at school, just act goofy, and chill out of school too. it's a bunch of us that just are glued. it's great, but what's going to happen after school's done? are we going to keep in touch?

i have a painting sitting in my room. it's 1/4 done. i haven't touched it in a few months. i know i should finish it, but i just never am motivated enough to get up and just paint.

i have a drawing in my sketchbook that i started when i wasn't feeling too super. it made me feel better, but now it's just sitting there in it's unfinished beauty. i just am not always in the mood to draw.

i have my flute sitting in the corner collecting dust. i like to play when i know it will sound good, but i don't often feel like picking it up and practicing to make it get back to that point if i haven't touched it in a while.

we have a keyboard, but once it gets too hard, i don't really feel like going slow and learning.

i can play guitar... kind of... but once i get to the same point every time, i put it down and say 'enough'.

i like being a graceful ballerina, but that involves money to pay for classes at a studio, and i don't have that.

i like yoga, but only sometimes. it's relaxing.

i like to run, but not really. only because it makes me energized and feel better about myself, even though i can't see any results from my treadmill-ing. i want to be thin. that's my motivation for that. but i don't even think it's working.

i like baking and cooking, but i don't like our kitchen.

i like photography, but i need new subjects. i've been around my yard and back a million times.

i like cutting hair, but school isn't challenging enough for me.

i like looking at photography in magazines and fashion/designer ads like in vogue, but what good does that bring.

i wish there was somewhere i can go right now. i just want to drive. drive far away. go somewhere. do something. be in the sun. see the blue skies. maybe if i drive fast enough to the west i can beat the sunset. don't i wish. maybe if i drive east, i can lose time and waste it wishing. i don't want to be here. but ask me where i'd rather be, and i'm not so sure i'd have an answer for you. why can't i just pack up my cat and my stuff and my andrei [stupid work ruins just about all hope of any fun and spontaneity] and just go. away. somewhere. sunny. with a beach. let's just run away forever.

woot.

i can see clearly now....

i went to the optometrist!
the smart one!
in mokena!
that i like!
and i can see again!
yay!
i like going to the optometrist!
yes, yes i do!

goodbye for now.

exciting.

wow, so today. so cool.
ally and i went to mc cormick place for the 'america's beauty show'.
it was pretty stinkin' awesome.
really. cool. stuff.

so we get there eventually after a missed exit and some gps usage... and we had to walk through what seemed like forever's worth of tunnels and hallways and what not... we get in and like BAM! there's tons of music and noise and people and models and displays and lights just everywhere. so much to look at. so so so much.

we stopped and looked at the Aquage stage for a little since they're the first ones you see when you walk in. i used to use their stuff btw, and totally loved it.
they were doing some haircuts on the stage. cool!

then we wandered about for a bit and eventually found the Paul Mitchell maze of product, displays, and the stage. we watched them do some cutting and coloring for a while. they did some nutso stuff up there. crazy colors and not so wearable cuts. haha. one girl from our school was actually a model for them. her hair looked alright though. but oh my goodness, their clothes they had to wear were horrendous. so goofy. really out there, ugly, and very sequined and shiny. then after a little bit of watching that, we wandered some more.

tons of booths with shears of all sorts, capes, clips, hair extensions, products... oh my!

the Schwarzkopf area was pretty cool. i used to use their stuff too and loved it. they had a bunch of stuff for like $2 so i bought a 'texture wave and curl defining cream' the texture of it feels just like my favorite curl product. so we shall see. and in the bag they put the product in, there was a little like, cosmetics bag or something of the sort in there, like free gift, woot. and it's cute too.

thennnn more wandering! we're good at that. we saw tons more you guessed it.... product, shears, and random other stuff!
woot.
then we headed over the the 'Sexy Hair' company's area. they had some crazy show ending as we got there. their area was soooooooooo loud. like, so loud. and really high energy. so ally and i were standing way in the back and one of the girls that worked there asked ally if she'd like to be a model for an updo. so ally signed a waiver and was told to be back there at 1:30. we had 20 min, so we wandered a bit more, watched the Redken stage for a little while, looked at some more product, and then headed back to Sexy Hair.

so the lady was there and said that i could come with her, but wasn't going to be a model for anything. (i'm guessing cuz my hair wasn't cool enough or something. ally's hair i colored.... it's dark brown with blonde at the top and orange and blonde chunks throughout) anyway, so she took us like, a million miles away, which as you might know, is totally probable at mc cormick place... so we got to go in the way back where each of the bigger lines with stages and models had their 'way backstage' prep area/hangouts set up. at the sexy hair back area they had models, tables, hair supplies, and food. the lady then curled ally's hair. a few other girls came in that had agreed to be models a few minutes later. they were there to get their hair wet down and combed through and detangle sprayed to be ready for cutting. all the while models are just being crazy and energetic and changing and stuff getting ready to leave and the stylists are just wandering about. the one lady asked if i'd be willing to be a model. i asked for what. she said a cut. i asked what they'd do. she said they'd probably cut it all off. i was like, well if it was last year, i would have done it, but this year for once i'm letting it grow out... i texted andrei and he was like... ' no no no' and ally told the girl that if i did it, everyone at school would kill me. (because i'm like, the only one almost with natural colored hair... and long hair. still.) OH, and all the girls that agreed to be models got bags with free product in them. they let me have one too! shweet! i got a styling cream, hydrating pumpkin shampoo, and enzyme mist pre-styler spray in my bag (all full size!) from their new 'healthysexyhair' line. so then we headed way a million miles away back to the stage and i went to take a seat while ally and the other girls went backstage.

the music was sooo loud and just really energetic remixes of stuff. then after a quick movie about their school in california, everyone came on stage and just started their magic. one girl got her short hair cut even shorter, but it looked so good when the guy finished, another girl got her medium hair cut kind of short, it looked really good though when it was done. i loved how it was styled. just perfect, like, messy, just shake it around, really textur-y, almost like out of a magazine or something. another girl that went in with really long long hair- past mid back- that was all just one length and flat, got layers and some fringe (bangs) that just swept across her face nicely. her hair looked so much nicer. it actually had some style going on in there. then there was another girl that got a nice curled updo, nothing special. and there was also ally, who got a kind of rocker looking curly almost to the side, mohawk like (as the stylist explained it) updo. it was just really cool looking. i liked it. a lot.
it was just really cool to watch it all. it was like, a nutso hairstyling free for all on the stage. amazing stuff.

oh, and i bought a 'slept in' texture cream from them too. haha. i like texture creams, can ya tell?

so then we wandered our way over to Paul Mitchell again to watch their stuff again (our school is affiliated with them after all, so might as well). they did some cuts and colors, but we already saw that stuff on DVD at school, so it wasn't anything new, but it was still fun to watch in real.

then, at 4, maybe half the lights went out since that's when the main show was scheduled to close, so we headed out.

we spent like, 5 hours there.... no way! haha, it was sooo cool though. like, awesome!

THEEENNNNNN, on the way home, ally was like, i want coffee... so i was like, we should go to this new place that just opened up that's on the way home if we take 83 to bell rd. so we went there. and it's amazing. it's called Saxbys Coffee. if you read this, you should go there... and bring everyone you know. just do it. do it!
i got a raspberry mocha and ally got a different raspberry latte. oh. my. goodness. they have so many flavor options... not even funny. at least 20. and this stuff really tastes good. yes, to the point where i would drive the extra 10 or so min to go out to homer glen for coffee instead of going to the starbucks in new lenox. then, as ally and i were sitting on the leather chairs by the fireplace, the owner of the place came and talked to us for a bit about the plans he has for it and how he'd love it if we spread the word about it. we totally agreed. because, well, it's sooo good!
also, as we sat there, the two workers there brought us each three samples of drinks. YUMMMM. oh, and we had samples of some scones. yum too! they brought us some sort of white chocolate 'frolatte' (like a frappachino) which was YUM. and strawberry smoothie, which was AWESOME. really smooth and no ice chunks. and a little bit later, a Kookie Monster blended creme.... YUM.
yeah, it was really good.

umm, so the day was pretty amazing, really. it was.
the only thing that could have made it better would have been seeing andrei. (aawwwww.)

yay for the hair show!
yay for saxbys!
yay for yays!

yummy.

#1: i like peanut butter. and you know what's pretty edible? peanut butter and jelly on a tortilla. a decently good substitute for bread if that's all you've got. don't forget to heat it up a little first. i like warm tortillas. and guacamole, but that's a whole other story.

#2: i like this song. the lyrics are included for your reading pleasure. it is titled 'here (in your arms)' by: hellogoodbye.

"Here In Your Arms"

I like where we are,
When we drive, in your car
I like where we are.... Here

Cause our lips, can touch
And our cheeks, can brush
Our lips can touch here

Well you are the one, the one that lies close to me
Whisper's "Hello, I've missed you quite terribly"
I fell in love, in love with you suddenly
Now there's no place else I could be but here in your arms

I like where you sleep,
When you sleep, next to me.
I like where you sleep... here

Our lips, can touch
And our cheeks, can brush
Our lips can touch here

Well you are the one, the one that lies close to me
Whisper's "Hello, I've missed you quite terribly"
I fell in love, in love with you suddenly
Now there's no place else I could be but here in your arms

Our lips, can touch
Our lips, can touch...here

You are the one the one that lies close to me
Whisper's "Hello, I've missed you quite terribly"
I fell in love, in love with you suddenly
Now there's no place else I could be but here in your

You are the one the one that lies close to me
Whisper's hello I miss you, I miss you
I fell in love, in love with you suddenly
Now there's no place else I could be but here in your arms

Here in your arms.
Here in your arms.

insanity.

last weekend was nutso. so much fuuun. and adventure!

friday night, ally texted me and she kinda just needed a friend and just to get away from where she was, so i was like, alright. catch is, that it was at like, midnight. and we had school the next day. so andrei and i met up with here at the denny's by school and sat there til like 2:30am. then i went home, eventually fell asleep, and woke up for school at 7:20ish. that was pretty fun and amusing. we shared an appetizer platter, drank lots of coffee, and talked a ton about random stuff. the coffee killed me though, it was so hard to fall asleep once i finally got to bed. argh.

thennnn, ally's friend, val, from ohio, drove in to visit her and got there saturday morning. she spent the whole day at school with her. ally and i colored her hair and it took foreveeerrrrr. mmhmmm. theennnnn.... monday night, ally and val met up with me and andrei at the huck finn's restaurant in oak lawn. we sat there for hours and hours and it was super fun. then ally and i had a snowball fight in the parking lot. then ally and val came with andrei and me and we just drove around chicago for a little bit. while we were sitting at huck finn's, we wondered about sonic drive in food establishments. we were totally ready to go on an adventure to find one, but andrei looked it up on his phone/online and to our dismay, they were closed, so that will have to be an adventrure for another time. so after driving around, we went back to the huck finn's so ally and val could get their car and go home and i could buy some of those massive dounuts as big as your face for viktorija and algiukas. and an apple fritter. yummmm. then, tuesday morning, andrei had an interview. luckily, he was awake enough, cuz tuesday was a whole other adventure.

ally and val attempted to drive up to andrei's apartment, not failing, but taking for stinking ever. apparently mapquest gives stinky directions and traffic stunk. but either way, they got there. then, the four of us went to eat some chiiineeeese from that yummy place down the street. then we drove to the city (again) but see, this time it wasn't like, 3am, so we could see life and walk around a bit. we drove and drove and played paddiddle. then we parked and ally, val, and i walked past union station and to the sears tower (val wanted to see it) and took some pictures while we were at it. andrei waited in the car. he parked in a loading zone. then we drove some more and parked by millenium park ish area. then we went to starbucks. it was five to ten. the close at ten. we got our drinks. ally and val tried to take a photo of a dry erase board with writing that they found amusing, but the lady behind the counter said that wasn't allowed. so we were like, ok. and then she went on to say how we have to leave cuz they're closing and how we were lucky that she even got us coffee since apparently they were just about closed when we came in... even though they still had 5 min. oh well. then we headed to millenium park. i stood and admired the ice arena. i like ice. then we walked around. i like the ice wall sculpture thing they have there now. colorful and really neat, even though apparently, it didn't turn out as expected. then the four of us talked to the lady standing guard of the bean and trying to protect herself from the bitter cold and winnnddddd. she was amusing. she said we should go see a movie or go to clubs and how we should know how to get in even though i'm not old enough yet and how your fake id doesn't even have to look like you.
i then ran around a bit. that was fun.
then we went back to the car to head back to the apartment since apparently, it was super cold!

we got back and then watched accepted.
yay.

i then got home super late/ early in the morning. then i woke up at like 7:20 and didn't feel like taking a shower because it was too cold and so i went to school super duper dead tired from all that adventuring... and smelly. mwahahaha.
i finally was fully functional and not tired anymore on saturday.

so fun!

ok, that is all.

andrei has a job now. he works.
and he's getting a new car. most likely today. it's super nice.

oh yeah, we went to the auto show last night. i like pontiac. :D yes, yes i do.

ooh oooh, and the other day, i was sitting in theory class... and i thought.... 'wow, i am in such the right place. i love this school. despite all the stupid drama going around since it's all girls pretty much, i still love this and i am totally where i should be. it just feels right to be here.'

i don't like this. at all.

happy. sad. i don't know.

so, perhaps i shall write some stuff. seeing as i have nothing much better to do. a while ago, andrei and i took a road trip out east. in mid october. i haven't written about it yet. so i am now. what i can remember of it anyway. we started driving one night. i didn't feel like going. i think i probably cried cuz my brother was crying cuz he didn't want us to leave. i think we spent the first night in some random town in ohio. then we kept driving. and we accidentally got onto Staten Island in New York. we saw the city's skyline. it was neat. then we drove down New Jersey's coast. we saw some crazy big and nice houses by the ocean. we ate dinner in new jersey. we sat at the beach on some random little pier for a while too. then we went to Washington D.C. the next day. it was really neat. very pretty. lots to see. lots of cool everything. we saw so much that day. we also went to the air and space museum there. and the art museum. very very neat to see, but unbearably humid. then we stayed the night in some random town in pennsylvania. then we went to the science museum in Pittsburgh. i like it there. the area is nice. very hilly. lots of trees. pretty. the science museum (carnegie science center) was very cool too. but i'd still have to say the best i've been to so far was the one in San Francisco. then we went home. overall, the trip was very awesome, but we have to go back to see it again and see more. i want to see Massachusetts and stuff further north. for some reason i want to see Maine. i wouldn't be able to live there. way too humid for meeee.

school is awesome. it's super fun. and if i do say so myself, i think i'm quite good at what we're learning and all that jazz. my class is pretty much done learning the basics. the week we get back from break... we start up again on the second of january... it's review/ testing week. then the week after, we learn how the salon floor works and we'll start giving salon services to guests. :) yay. we will also still be going to class a few times a week to learn even more. today we did our men's cuts on real people. i did my dad's hair. it looks good. and it only took an hour. :D. ally did nick's hair. she took over four hours. hahahaha! it looked good though. she flat ironed it. then i razor cut it a bit for texture. then we put some texturizing cream and spray wax in it. it looked pretty darn good when we were done. the rest of the day, we worked on 'dream boards'. i love mine. i'm going to hang it up in my room.
i was really happy, felt pretty, and was quite myself all day. it was great.
although, now that it's break. i have no class for ten days. that gives me all too much time to have to figure out how to keep busy. maybe i'll knit buddy [oh, yeah, i renamed him gilligan. so he goes by both names now.] a sweater. maybe i'll knit myself some mittens. maybe i'll bake and cook a ton. maybe i'll run on the treadmill a lot. i don't know. i miss andrei. he left wednesday night. he drove to california to spend christmas with the family. he's going to be there until a day or two after new year's. i need to keep distracted and busy. i'm really tired. i want to go to sleep now. i really want to go ice skating. the other day, Ally and i did ballet and i did skating jumps in this big open space by the lockers and time clock at school. i miss skating like crazy. i was doing one and half revolution jumps consistently. that's nuts. i wish i could learn how to do a double jump on ice.

it doesn't feel like christmas.
i don't want christmas.
i don't want anything.
i don't want to be here.

so this morning, i looked up a few pictures for my dream board that i knew i wouldn't find in any magazine we had to look at in school to use. i printed out cheesecake, alyssa czisny (doing a spiral... ice skating... duh), a ballerina doing an arabesque, and a picture of manhattan beach. the picture of manhattan beach and all the ones google came up with for me made me want to cry. because i know that place. i spent quite a few nights on that pier. i love the beach in california at night. i miss it. i still think i might live out there for a year or two right when i get out of school. that would be pretty much the only time i could... cuz it'd be mean to build up a clientèle and then ditch them and be like, well, i'll be back in a year or two... i'm just moving away for a little while. we'll see. i've got til november to figure it out. it just feels like something i need to do. i've wanted to since seventh grade.... we'll see.

ummm, well, i should paint my nails. i got this great brown by OPI. it's called 'brisbane bronze'. look it up. pretttty. but i'm not going to do that now. don't feel like it.
i feel like sleeping.

dinner is soon. cheeseburgers. i can't wait. it'll distract me.

i have unlimited texting now. that rocks.

i'm cold.

yesterday, i was so tired... after my shower, i was walking down the hall and i walked into the hallway wall and walked against it halfway to my room.

i'm tired.

" If you were falling, then I would catch you./ You need a light, I'd find a match.
Cuz I love the way you say good morning./ And you take me the way I am.

If you are chilly, here take my sweater./Your head is aching, I'll make it better.
Cuz I love the way you call me baby./ And you take me the way I am.

I'd buy you Rogaine if you start losing all your hair./ Sew on patches to all you tear.
Cuz I love you more than I could ever promise./ And you take me the way I am./ You take me the way I am./You take me the way I am."

autumn is upon us.

Well, the other day, we played Risk (we being me, Viktorija, Algiukas, and Andrei.). so fun, but it took just about a million hours. I had a laughing attack that lasted like a half hour or so after I realized Viktorija had both Africa and South America. Vik and Algiuks were smart and held off major attacking until they had tons of army dudes out there and occasionally attacked an easy place to get a card to get bonuses later on while Andrei and I weakened each other over North America. I eventually had only the entire Europe for a lot of the game. Eventually, Andrei lost first, then something happened involving ‘cheating’ and Viktorija went to bed, so the three of us just cleaned up. i really can’t guess who would have won. The next turn would have been Algiukas getting like, fifty reinforcements by trading in his cards, then weakening me like crazy, but on my next turn I would have gotten fifty five reinforcements and would have spread a bit. So I really have no idea.

So then Algiukas, Andrei and I watched Yours, Mine, and Ours and then went to sleep after 1:30am. oh, and we had some Ramen noodles too. Woot.

Sunday after church Andrei and I went to the Home Depot and I wanted to dance through the aisles like a ballerina, but I decided that would not be the best idea since it could be a tad dangerous… oh, and we also went to Steak and Shake for lunch. They now have a super good raspberry frozen yogurt shake. Ahhhh! Soo good!

Today…. I didn’t do much, lots of tv. But I did spend like three hours organizing and cleaning out junk-stuff from my room and closet. You can’t really tell... but that’s ok. I kind of want to rearrange my shelves- the stuff on them sometime soon. Maybe tonight? Probably not, but I still have plenty of time before school starts, so it’ll get done. I also have to find a place to hang my paintings. And I have to find some more photos to put in the frames I bought a while back to add to my wall. I also should finally put some photos in my photo album I got as the party favor from Prom. That only has been empty for…like, two years… yeah… Oh oh oh! And while I was cleaning, I found my favorite leotard AND my necklace that I thought I lost forever. The leotard was behind those drawers I have in the closet with socks and pajamas and swimsuits and stuff and the necklace was in my ballet bag. I guess I never cleaned it out since my last ballet class back in June or whenever it was. I got really sad and almost teary eyed when I cleaned out my ballet bag. I really miss dance class. A lot a lot.

That’s kind of it right now. My life is really not all that exciting. I don’t start class until November seventh. I’m going to go to Trend Setters in Mokena. I actually really like it there. for some reason this time when I went to see it, I liked it a whole ton more than I did back in November last time I visited. Maybe it was because the day was sunny, maybe because I had seen Capri and had something to compare it to, or maybe it was because I knew for sure this is what I want to do as opposed to last year- when I was still unsure on a lot of things- including any decisions involving school. But, I’m really happy with my choice and cannot wait to start class. Who knows, I may end up working at Jeffrey LaMorte. How cool would that be? It’s my favorite salon. A new franchise of it was just opened in Lemont actually by a guy who just recently graduated from Trend Setters.

Anyway, that’s about it.

Yeahp.

Oh yeah, and the autumn season is officially quickly approaching. I love love love fall! The air… so cool and crisp. The sunlight is just different than the rest of the seasons. It just has this really great feeling. Not only can you smell that it’s fall, but you can just feel it. And it feels great!

owchies.

August 31, 2007

Today was really good, really happy, and i was in an all around good mood most of the day, aside from the fact that it seemed to be official ‘Kristina gets tons of injuries, yet everyone including her laughs at it’ day.

Started out with some crazy microwave drama that I don’t care to explain yet again. It involves our microwave, which has been broken now for three weeks, a few repair guys that are clearly incompetent, and a lady with an accent on the phone, who is clearly more incompetent than the repair guys.

Andrei and I went out to Oak Forest to drop off my application to Capri, but the lady at the desk rather forcefully declared to me that ‘I might not be able to be in the class that starts in September, which means I would have to wait til December to start school. At first I was kind of like, wow, that bites, but after I thought about it, that could be better… it would give me a chance to get a job so I could not only start to buy some stuff for myself, but also help pay for my school. Then we stopped by a car part store real quick so Andrei could get something. While we were there I called my mom to tell her about what went down at Capri. Well, he finished and we went to the car. I was still on the phone and just standing outside the car, by the door. He had already opened the door for me, and was kind of like, come on, let’s go, so I went to go in, and on the way I bashed my head against the car door frame really really hard. So hard that it hurt the entire back of my head, and still hurts now. It also didn’t feel too good when we went over bumps in the car or certain times when I simply move my head. Sometimes. Argh. Then we went to Chipotle to get some food. Yum. Then DSW to look at shoes really quick, then Old Navy really quick. I decided I was really not in the mood for shopping today. Maybe because of me hitting my head, maybe it was just too nice out and I didn’t feel like shopping, who knows. Then we went to Barnes and Noble… I got two books that my mom wanted and two for myself. Yay. I like bookstores. Then we went to the mall to get a ticket to Matt Nathanson for Viktorija. Yep, she’s coming with us! Then home.

Then Rachel’s house. Fun! Well, we played some Scattergories in their fancy screened in gazebo with roll down shades, then we ate some food, then Andrei helped Rachel’s mom with their computer a bit, then more Scatergories, then bowling at 10ish. Bowling was pretty cool. i used a pretty purple ball and a swirly blue one. blue first, then the purple. We actually all did pretty well, but Andrei was the only one with actual skill. The rest of us did well purely on luck, well except for me sometimes.. HA! You can tell it’s got nothing to do with skill if you do well very inconsistently. Our last of the three [free] games we did so well, we almost consistently got one zero in each frame… and no I don’t mean we got tons of strikes… it was really fun though. Woot. lol. I just typed woot. Haha.

After we got back from bowling, we kind of sat around like goofy tired zombies. Megan and Rachel, well I don’t quite know what they were doing, but Andrei and I were throwing my pomergranate Burts Bees chapstick at each other. Not playing catch, but throwing it AT each other. He hit me in the face many times. Kind of fun though, in the ‘oh my goodness I’m so tired anything is funny’ kind of fun. Then I hit my already aching bad knee on their fireplace. Ow. Biiiiig owwww. Oh well. The evening was a lovely waste of time with friends having fun being cool and strange and stuff.

It’s cold.

Yep.

It is cold right now. Supposedly it’s only 59 outside, and I have my balcony door open, and a fan on. Soooo smart.

Ok, yeah, I’m done. Goodbye.

i want my sunshine back

i've been home now for a little over two weeks, and yes, i did just post my last entry to the california 2007 blog. most of it was written very soon after i got home, if not while i was still out there, but as i was finishing it just a little bit ago, i recalled events quite easily.

i'm really in the mood to be there now, but if i was, i'd like to be not in his family's apartment. i'd definitely want to be somewhere kind of in the area-ish, but not with them. if i was to live there, i think i'd like to be closer to San Diego than Los Angeles. somewhere in the middle, but not in Orange County. more south than that. i think. i want to go back.
maybe i'm in the mood to be there because it's been cloudy a lot lately. humid, raining. stuff. tornadoes are the scariest things ever and there were some nearby. they're more powerful than hurricanes, but less likely to actually hit you.

the only thing is, the clouds and sky are not anywhere near as interesting in California as they are here. and it's more green here.

not much has changed, schools have started, microwave broke- again, storms have come and gone, Algiukas is kind of a better person, Andrei got a dog....

yes, andrei got a dog. one and a half years old. supposedly a bison frise mix. about twenty pounds, short legs, long hot dogggish body, big eyes, floppy ears, pretty tail, soft , curly white fur. overall, a pretty good dog.

not much has changed with me. i'm going to cosmetology school and i'm so excited to learn about that stuff. i really hope i enjoy it and learn a lot.

since school has started i've really been in the mood to go to school- one in which i learn and am challenged just enough, much unlike Lewis. i'm in the mood to do some algebra and physics and take an art class, but that's not happening, so perhaps once it stops being so nasty humid, i'll paint again.

i bought myself a set of three Audrey Hepburn DVD's and the new Matt Nathanson CD. the package came yesterday. yay. that was exciting. i've been wanting to see Breakfast at Tiffany's again for about a month now, and finally got to tonight... now, to satisfy my other month old craving... since before we had the day in Laguna Beach, i want a caramel apple.

well, it's kind of late and i really should have fed my Nilla a few hours ago, so i'll go do that now, then come back downstairs and play some tetris... or something.

"I want to feel the car crash/ i want to feel the capsize/ i want to feel the bomb drop, the earth stop, til i'm satisfied/ i want to feel the car crash, cause i'm dying on the inside/ i want to let go and know that i'll be alright, alright."
